Today I begin my third foray into the land of P90X. It has been over a year since I completed my last rotation of this very difficult program, and I am ready to bust it again! Each workout day I will post my comments regarding personal issues with the workout, good or bad, how I am progressing, and just to let you know I am still alive!!! I am doing the rotation at the same time as my favorite client DREW, the ecourse guru, so please check his blog as well to see how we differ in our opinions and modifications during the rotation! Check him out at www.andrewpolleto.com

Day 1 = Chest/Back – halfsie today.

OMG! There are only 3 exercises in this day’s workout that I don’t dislike! I have no warm and fuzzy for pull-ups or push-ups and this day was chock FULL of them!! Even halfsies was ridiculous, LOL.

I did the first 3 kinds of pullups (standard, wide and military) with the assist band and a pull-up bar, but after that I switched to Lat Pull-DOWNS on the machine. Felt weak and found myself just swinging around on the bar! For push-ups, I am on my knees still. Starting off easy on the body so I don’t end up hurting something. The only moves I do like are Lawnmowers, Heavy Pants and Back Flys. 3 out of 12, not very good odds for a ‘fun’ session. But then, do we expect FUN with P90X? No, I say NO WE DON’T!

"See" you tomorrow after Plyometrics! Coach Sherilyn

A brief post today about the subject of attitude and acceptance NOW. This will be brief because this is the subject of my next article, so I will invite you to my articles page to read it, rather than write it out twice! What I really want to drive home is how very important it is during this program to appreciate where you are NOW, and to not be of the mind-set that you will "postpone" your happy existence until you lose "x" amount of pounds, or fit into "x" size! Follow me to ezines (<—click "My Articles" in the left margin) and read on………….

Happy Hump Day! Word for the day….. "dummies". I finally broke down and had to admit that when it comes to this website stuff, this fits pretty well.

Sooooo, I bought the book. Yes, that one, the one for ‘Dummies’. I put it in a brown paper wrapper and snuck it into my office. It may not be as convenient as listening to those wonderful classes that the Word Press Wizard does each week, but it is in front of me all the time, and is aimed at…….well……..yes, dummies. The more I say it, the less ‘bad’ it sounds. "Dummies". In this case, it simply means someone who doesn’t know what they are doing" regarding a certain subject. Still, I would not call my site "Fitness stuff for Dummies". Actually, upon thinking further I would probably be sued if I were to do that. Still, it brings us once again to the idea of ‘knowledge’ and what a difference that makes in any endeavor. What really got me pushing myself about getting out here in the Internet Jungle is the realization that "no", everyone does NOT know this stuff! I have oodles of knowledge and ideas and sources that can help people, and this is a wonderful avenue with which to do that. Therefore I must and WILL learn this stuff, so just bear with me. Each time you return, which I hope will be often, you should see a new and improved site. Links that actually work, graphics and yes, even a picture of me, if I can get the hubby to help with a photo shoot this weekend. One of my first lessons once I get the basics down will be to upload some client before and after pics. Then it will be VIDEO! I guess that is a Vlog, correct? I am getting the lingo, wow!

So readers, do forgive that thus far I have not been showering you in tags and widgets and links "Oh My"! But it is coming, stay tuned…………………………………………….

It’s Friday the 13th! Fantastic, as that always means good things for me. I think it is because so many people ‘focus’ on this being an unlucky day, and that leaves all that good fortune floating around in the Universe looking for positive vibes to gravitate to. Life follows what you focus on, and we do create our own reality, so focus on GOOD thoughts today, and every day (**listening to Kelly Clarkson’s new album, good stuff!).

My thoughts today flow from the experience I am having while building my website. The dynamic is very much the same as when one embarks on a fitness quest for the first time. When I decided to take on this project, I was determined. That was last September (6 months ago!). I started and stopped and started and stopped and finally after several of those I just plain QUIT trying. I was frustrated, because I had no real knowledge of HOW to do what I wanted to do. I had plenty of desire to do it, I had the time to do it, I had the support of friends and family. Everything I needed, right? Wrong. I did not have the KNOWLEDGE. Lacking this, I just became frustrated and even though I knew this website would bring me closer to what I wanted, which is to expand my communications to the vast number of people who could use MY knowledge, I just felt as if it would never happen. I had pieces here and there but nothing was gelling into anything meaningful. JUMP now to 6 months later, I was again determined to do it, and I still had no knowledge of the "how". Yet, I now have a website up and published.

The difference this time?

I GOT HELP from somebody who DOES have the knowledge I don’t. All the motivation in the world does no good without some idea of how to accomplish the goal. This is exactly what happens with SO many individuals beginning a fitness program. They are motivated and determined when they begin, but soon this fizzles out when very little is happening, or worse, they end up feeling worse rather than better because of the lack of "knowledge" on how to do it right. Let me be that source for you!

Don’t -Spin your wheels trying to decipher the vast, and often contradictory, information out there.

Don’t -Injure yourself by doing too much too soon, or doing it in the wrong way.

Don’t -Quit out of pure frustration at the lack of progress or clear information.

DO – Log On to Train With Sherilyn and join the @Home club, where you will find the information, resources and support to follow-through on your decision to create a new quality of life through good health!
